Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I really have new teeth in one day?
This procedure will certainly change your life and takes only 1 day out of your busy life.

Who are the best candidates for allonfourscotland?
The ideal candidates for the Teeth in a Day, (All on Four or All on Six) procedure are those who are about to lose their teeth and those who are current denture wearers.

Where will I come for Treatment?
We are based at Edinburgh Dental Specialists in Edinburgh.

I still have some teeth. Would they have to be removed?
No, not necessarily. Our Specialist Clinicians would advise you accordingly at you Initial Consultation.

How long will the procedure take?
The Surgery takes up to 2 hours and you will receive a fixed set of teeth in one day.

I’ve been told in the past, that I’m not a candidate for a fixed bridge or implant due to bone loss. Am I a candidate for an implant with the All on Four procedure?

All patients who have been told they are not candidates for traditional implant options are candidates for this procedure or "All on Four Extreme". These procedures use the frontal part of the jaw or cheekbone and in most cases require no bone grafting or sinus augmentation.

How experienced are the Dentists who will be carrying out my Treatment?

All of our 11 Internationally renowned Clinicians have been granted permission by the General Dental Council (UK) to officially use the title “Specialist” for their particular area of expertise (*Prof Lars Sennerby is not registered as a specialist in the UK. He is however a professor of dental implantology in Gothenberg, Sweden, has placed more than 10,000 implants and is one of the world's foremost authorities on dental implants).

You will be treated by a Specialist in tooth replacement, ‘Prosthodontics’ and a Specialist in Surgery ‘Oral Surgeon’ to ensure the best treatment at all times.

What makes this procedure different?

Considering the fact that the frontal part of the jaw has the more dense bone, instead of the conventional method of placing the implant straight into the bone (which can require sinus lift and bone grafting) and minimum 6 to 9 months waiting time to heal, this technique differentiates by placing the back implants at an angle. Not only do you benefit from the dense bone in the frontal part of the jaw, but we can place a longer implant with a much less invasive procedure, without entering into the sinus cavity on the upper arch.

What types of food will I be able to eat with my new teeth?
Having had little or no teeth and possibly an uncomfortable Ill fitting bridge or plate, after treatment is completed you will be able to eat, bite and chew normally.

How much does it cost?

At your free Initial Consultation, you will be informed of the cost once the Dentist has carried out a full examination of your month. At this point he / she will be able to identify any possible complications and advise accordingly. The costs can be up to 50% less than a conventional implant approach and can range from £13,200 for a conventional All on Four, up to £20,000 for the All on Four "Extreme" using 4 Zygomatic (cheekbone) implants.

How do I book my free Initial Consultation?

It’s very simple. Call our reception team on 0131 225 2666 and ask for a ‘allonfourscotland’ Initial Consultation appointment.

Is there an on-site lab to produce my new teeth and immediately handle any required adjustments or repairs?

All-on-four is only possible with an on-site lab. Edinburgh Dental Implant Lab is our on-site purpose built facility encompassing a full team of Dental Technicians including a Master Ceramist. The highly skilled lab team will make your new teeth and ensure a perfect fit every time.

What happens if an implant fails or I need repairs to my new teeth?

In the very rare case that an implant becomes loose, Edinburgh Dental Specialists will replace it at no charge, and future repairs that may be needed will be done at the on-site lab, usually at no charge.

What Patients Say

— James Smith, Edinburgh

"I’d never heard of All-on Four before I was referred to Edinburgh Dental Specialists by my own Dentist. My teeth were in very poor condition and this was one of a range of options I was offered.

It has truly changed my life, especially when taking my grandchildren out. It has given me my confidence back and I can eat most things that I had to avoid for the past 20 years. It’s even made me look and feel ten years younger.

I would definitely recommend All-on-four and Edinburgh Dental Specialists."
