Stuart graduated from the University of Dundee School of Dentistry (2001) and following training posts in General Practice and Hospital gained MFDS,RCS Edinburgh (2005).
Following several years in general practice, as a practice principal and VT trainer, Stuart returned to formal postgraduate study.
He completed two Master’s degrees; in Implant Dentistry (2014) and in Prosthodontics (2016). Both were awarded with Distinction and the University of Edinburgh Medal for clinical and academic excellence was awarded for the latter.
He then gained Membership in Prosthodontics (MPros) at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (2017).
His clinical and research interests include aesthetic and implant dentistry and treatment of advanced tooth wear and he has published clinical articles in peer reviewed journals.
He has presented at local and national levels and is a member of;
The British Society of Prosthodontics (BSSPD),
British Society for Restorative Dentistry (BSRD),
International Team for Implantology (ITI)
In addition, Stuart is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer in Restorative dentistry at the University of Edinburgh Dental Institute and an examiner for the Membership of Advanced General Dental Surgery (MAGDS) at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
He is married to Cheryl with two daughters. His outside interests include marathon running and tennis.
